Only four days until Thanksgiving, the time we are reminded of what we are truely thankful for. A time when we eat more than we can consume and spend time with our family and friends while reminiscing on old times. There is so much to be thankful for. I am thankful to live in a country where we are free to express who we are and what we believe in. No matter who our president is, or what is happening in this world, we have a choice to unite as a people, respect one another, and love one another. No matter where you're from or what you believe in, we are all human beings. Each of us makes up the human race. And we can choose to respect one another and love one another, or we can choose to let our differences tear us apart. I choose love and respect. I want to love everyone around me despite our differences because we are all human and no individual is the same. So I am thankful that we each are given the opportunity and choice to love and respect one another despite our differences. Because at the end of the day, these are the things that matter the most... love and respect.
I am thankful for my family and friends, who continue to build me up and challenge me. I am thankful for my surroundings and people that continue to inspire me and push me to pursue my dreams. I am thankful to live in a place where I don't have to worry about when my next meal will or where I will sleep at night. There are so many things to be thankful for, all of which I take for granted at times.
I am thankful for a closet full of clothes, many of which I don't need but am thankful and blessed to have. For this week's look, I chose an outfit that is perfect for Thanksgiving. I chose some chestnut suede booties, a gold choker, and a striped dress rich with color.
I bought this dress at a boutique on my college campus called Dress Up. The reason I love Dress Up so much is because of its core values. If you want to read more about the values of Dress Up, click here. Dress Up is the perfect store for high school and college girls. You can find the perfect game day outfit, rush week outfit, etc. There are so many options to choose from and all for such great prices. The reason I chose this dress to wear on Thanksgiving was because of the colors. The colors are so rich: deep blues and reds, contrasting against the chestnut brown and bright white. The off the shoulder sleeves are so straight cut and sophisticated. And if you add a simple choker with the off the shoulder style, it creates the perfect look. Another thing I love about this dress is the material. It is a thick material that hugs in just the right places, making you look slimmer and making you legs look longer.
I bought this choker form Pacsun over the summer. I love it because you can wear it during any season in the year. If you don't have a gold choker, I highly recommend getting one because they go with almost anything.
I wore these booties in my last blog post. They are from Forever 21 and they are a great heeled bootie for fall. The chestnut brown color and the suede material is the perfect combination to complete that cozy fall outfit.
Check out your local boutiques, because boutiques are always the perfect place to find cozy and cute outfits, especially for casual holiday outfits. Also, make sure to check out DressUp. I promise you will find something you love.
To end this post, I just want to remind you to be thankful for all that you have. I hope that this post helped you figure out the perfect outfit to wear for Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
