Deep Greens

So I am currently cramming for exams and trying to apply for internships before the deadlines that are quickly approaching. The stress of exams and internships has definitely been getting to me and it has filled me with so much unneeded stress and anxiety. I constantly find myself having to take a step back and take deep breaths, and remind myself that this is only a tiny moment in my life that will pass and that won't really matter in the long run. Anyways, with all of the stress building with finals right around the corner, which I am sure a lot of you are feeling right now, I chose to write about an outfit that contains all the earthy colors which are so soothing and represent the exact opposite of all all this unneeded stress.

IMG_7243.jpg

I bought this top from Anthropologie on sale for about $15. The material is structured but delicate, and made of a fine linen, so it is extremely comfortable. I also love all that this top represents. The deep green represents peace and growth, energy and renewal. It represents beauty and strength. It is soothing and relaxing (If you want to know what the collection as a whole is all about, click here, because it is amazing).

IMG_7267.jpg

I wore this top with my go-to pair of jeans from Madewell, and some suede chestnut booties from Forever 21, both of which I have talked about many times past in other blog posts.

IMG_7235.jpg

I then completed this outfit with a dainty scarf that I found from Saks Off Fifth. It is covered with vibrant blues, yellows and reds. The pattern is detailed and delicate, and pulls this outfit together perfectly.

So if you're feeling overwhelmed this week, treat yo' self!!! Go shopping, go out to dinner with some friends, and just take a break!! Happy Wednesday and good luck on everything as this semester comes to a close!!

Anthro: Flouncy Finds

Anthropologie is one of my all time favorite stores. Everything there is so delicate and detailed and beautiful. While it might be on the more expensive side, you will never get something from there that is not worth what you pay for. Everything there is of the highest quality and will last for so long. Anthropologie is also one of the few stores that no matter what I buy from there, it will never go out of style. I bought a shirt from Anthropologie in 9th grade and I am now a sophomore in college and am still wearing it all the time. So if you want clothes that are made from the best quality and will never go out of style, check out Anthropologie.

IMG_7317.jpg

This past summer, I stumbled upon some fun and spunky jeans from Anthropologie. They are black high-rise capri jeans that have a nice embroidered flouncy hem. They add just the right amount of sass to any outfit. Of course, they were around $180, and being a broke college student, it was out of my price range.

IMG_7326.jpg

Less than a month later, I saw online that Anthropologie was having a sale, which included these jeans and I ended up getting them on sale for $50. FIFTY DOLLARS!!!! And they are the comfiest jeans I have ever worn!! Just another reason why Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores... they always have the best sales.

IMG_7288.jpg

I decided to pair these jeans with a top that I also bought on sale from Anthropologie for $9. It is the perfect flare top for summer, but it is also perfect for fall if you pair it with the right outfit. While I love the delicate pattern of the fabric, my favorite aspect of this shirt was the detailed gold beads on the end of the strings. The four gold beads helped make the gold studs on the jeans pop even more.

IMG_7296.jpg

I added some suede, wrap up platform shoes with a black wool flouncy hat. This hat has been one of my staple pieces this fall. I think I have worn it with just about everything.

Thanks for reading and happy shopping!!

That's So 70's

IMG_7156.jpg

This fall has been one of my favorite fall's yet, style-wise. I was especially excited for this fall because of all of the trends on the runway this season. Everything from office plaids to vibrant colors. So many styles from the 70s-90s are coming back!! If you thought those old-fashioned plaids were out of style, they aren't and they are more fashionable than ever.

IMG_7145.jpg

I spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect pair of office plaid pants for this fall. I stumbled upon these while scrolling through my instagram feed. They are from Show Me Your Mumu and they are super fun and comfortable. They have a bluish tint to them, which gives them a younger and more vibrant look. My favorite part about these high-wasted pants are the fun little pockets on the front. Whenever I wear these, it makes me feel like I am on Clueless or on an episode of That's So 70's show. The only down side to these pants is that they were extremely long. I had to hem them about 4 inches. The brand tends to make clothes that fit taller people better, but if you are willing to go the extra mile, then I say this brand is still totally worth it.

IMG_7140.jpg

I paired these high-wasted pants with a black, ribbed, short-sleeve turtleneck. The best part about this shirt is that I got it for free... FREE!!! I was buying a cozy winter sweater from Pacsun and ended up getting two shirts for free when I bought it. So if you're a broke college student like me, Pacsun is the place to go because they normally always have a sale going on.

IMG_7142.jpg

Fashion is about setting trends, so don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone. Wear those fun plaids, stripes, prints, and colors. And take those clothes out of hiding that you thought were out of style, because they are back and more fashionable than ever.

IMG_7171.jpg

I will be sharing a lot more fall trends this month, so be on the lookout for those posts!

Thanks for reading!

Melancholia

Something I love about this world is all of the different types of people in it. Different personalities, looks, opinions, dreams, beliefs, etc. Choosing to be relational is an opportunity to understand another's beliefs. Through that, we learn to respect and gain a better understanding of other people, while maintaining relationship. One individual who is so good at this is Liza Odachowski who many know as the musician, Liza Anne. Yesterday was her 23rd birthday so I want to dedicate this post to her and to all that she has accomplished in 23 years!!

There are always unique individuals who are so talented, dream big, feel everything, are in touch with their and use those emotions, using them to create something beautiful. Liza is one of those people. She expresses herself through music (which you need to check out if you haven't already). Her music makes me feel like I am a part of the song, feeling every emotion. It draws me in and gives me the opportunity to interpret the lyrics to mean something special to me and all that I might be going through at the moment. Honestly, her lyrics are just straight fire. So shoutout to Liza, for always knowing how to make the lyrics come to life. And for having such a passion for music, and fighting for what she believes in. Always feeling everything and being so in tune with her emotions. We can all use some people like that in our lives. Her lyrics make you feel literally every type of emotion with all that is within you. It is something special.

IMG_2586.JPG

So this outfit represents all of that. The true simplicity of life, beauty of our surroundings, and all of the emotions we go through. Life really is simple, if we choose to let it be simple. We can live every day worried, stressed out, and anxious about the future. Or we can choose to be okay with where we are, not worry about the future, and just live in the simple truth that our life is a gift and we don't need to waste our time worrying and stressing out about it. Whatever is supposed to happen will happen.

This shirt, to me, represents not always having it together, which is fine. Feeling everything and being okay with being sad sometimes. Choosing joy through it all. And through all of these emotions, being able to understand others better and what they might be going through. True empathy for one another and real love for each other.

If you want to feel everything with all that is within in you, check out Liza Anne's music. She is so talented and sings lyrics of poetry. Her music makes you feel like you are a part of the story, feeling everything together. You get to interpret the music any way you want to, in such a way that makes you have a better understanding of all that you are feeling.

This outfit is simply and easy. Pair a simple t-shirt with some jeans and casual shoe and you're good to go. I like to wear this outfit to get coffee with friends or just on a casual outing. If you wear this outfit during winter and get cold, throw something over it to add to your personality and unique style. I added a warm furry jacket. It is fun and sassy, which represents me so well. Also, I got this jacket for half off, which is a steal if you ask me.

I paired this outfit with some blue velvet shoes from Steve Madden because I am obsessed with all things velvet. All together, this outfit is simple, and unique. It doesn't necessarily match, which can be a good thing sometimes. Outfits that don't match perfectly give you the opportunity to create something unique.

Thats all for today. Happiest of birthdays to Liza. Check out her music if you haven't! And live in simplicity with the simplest of outfits.

Barefoot in December

Happy December everyone! I am so so excited for this holiday season. I can't wait for finals to be over next week, so I can get home and relax. I have been studying so much for my finals and all I want right now is to wear cozy pajamas, sit in front of the Christmas tree, and drink some hot chocholate while watching a good Christmas movie. I love picking out comfy and cozy loungewear for the cold winter season. And I also love bundling up under a bunch of soft and fuzzy blankets. My new favorite brand for comfy and cozy loungewear and blankets is Barefoot Dreams. One of the reasons I love Barefoot Dreams so much is because they have such an amazing story. When you put a sweater on by this brand, you immediately feel calmer. The materials are made of of the silkiest satins, coziest knits, and softest flannels. I didn't know about the brand until I went home over Thanksgiving break and walked into a store called Saltwater Cottage, that carries Barefoot Dreams. I had the opportunity to do a fun collaboration with Saltwater Cottage. They have everything you need for the holiday season, and for life in general. They have so many great things for the home, cute accessories, loungewear, and so much more. I love everything that this store stands for. When you walk into the store, you immediately feel calm. The layout of the store is so serene. If you haven't been to Saltwater Cottage before, make sure to check them out if you get the chance. Saltwater Cottage is located on St. Simons Island, Georgia by the pier. I promise you won't be disappointed and you won't leave there empty handed.

Sweater featured in Opera Magazine under Opera's Favorite Things

This Barefoot Dreams sweater is one of the softest and comfiest sweaters I have ever put on. My favorite part about the sweater has to be the ombre. Ombre makes anything pop. I am also a sucker for anything ombre because it just looks so cool! And might I mention, this sweater also comes in a bunch of different colors... and it's under $100. Whoop whoop! Not only is this sweater perfect to feel comfy and cozy in while sitting at your house, but it is also the perfect sweater to layer over a cute outfit. I paired this sweater with a thermal sweater from Free People, some basic black leggings, black heeled booties, and - the item that pulls the whole outfit together - a spoon necklace.

EFGC7962.jpg

I am extremely picky about statement jewelry, so to find a statement necklace that I am in love with is rare. This spoon necklace was the perfect statement necklace for me because it is unique and doesn't look like any other necklaces. It is simple, yet so detailed. They are three spoons put together to create one beautiful piece. I also am a sucker for chokers, and this is the perfect choker to make a statement. It ties my whole outfit together. This line of jewelry is made by an artist out of St. Augustine, but it is sold at Saltwater Cottage. There are many unique pieces in this artist's collection, all made out of sterling silver. So if you are looking for the perfect gift for that special someone, or if you just want to spoil yourself a little, you can buy this jewelry from Saltwater Cottage.

USSR0833.jpg

I have talked about these sweaters before, but this thermal sweater is from Free People. I have this sweater in a few different colors. They are also perfect for layering and are so so comfy. They are great to sleep in, on those cold winter nights.

I have also talked about these shoes before. They are from Forever 21 and they are amazing. I have them in black and chestnut. Heeled booties can spice up any outfit if you wear them the right way. Also, they are black. And as y'all know, I am obsessed with anything black, white or gray. Those are my go-to colors.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! I also hope all of you have an amazing Christmas break and winter season. Make sure to cozy up by the fire, watch some classic Christmas movies, and most importantly spend time with your family and friends making memories and laughing. I hope your Christmas break is peaceful and restful. Make sure to check out Barefoot Dreams and read their story. Also check out Saltwater Cottage for some great finds and sweet times. Merry Christmas!!

xx Thank you Saltwater Cottage for this cozy sweater and beautiful necklace! Your store is amazing and fills me with joy every time I walk into it. xx

Contrasts

Happy Tuesday and I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving! I had the whole week off and it was perfect. I slept a lot, ate a lot, slept some more, and spent time with all of my family and friends. It was the perfect amount of relaxation before heading back to college to deal with the stress of studying for finals. Prayers and thoughts appreciated as I head into these three weeks of no sleep and constant studying:)

I got back to campus on Sunday, and boy did I miss it. I was only gone for a week, and I was having separation anxiety from my little mountain town. I love, love love, the mountains, fall colors and crisp weather. It just makes me feel cozy and at peace.  Anyways, we are now starting that transition into cold winter weather! Anyone else super excited for the winter?! Im excited to build a snowman, drink hot coco by the fire, and wear big oversized sweaters and mittens!! So much to look forward to. As we start transitioning into the colder months, I chose an outfit that is perfect for that crips and chilly day: a black leather jacket, a comfy black sweater, a velvet black choker, some black jeans, and some chestnut suede boots to add some contrast. You might have seen a few of these pieces in my other posts, but I love these pieces so much I had to share them with you again.

I love this black sweater because the front is classy and simple and the back is fun and flirty. I also love how there is a little twist at the bottom of the fabric. It adds the perfect touch. It is a great sweater to spice up the whole outfit.

These jeans are from Madewell, and like always, they are made so well. You can never have too many pairs of black jeans. Black really does go with anything. And if someone tells you differently, don't listen. I pair navy blue with black all the time, because style is about breaking boundaries and rules. It is about creating. So if you aren't sure if something matches, just wear it anyways because an outfit doesn't need to be perfectly matched. That can be boring.

I have talked about this faux leather jacket before, but I bought it form garage. It is my go-to jacket and it is perfect for layering.

IMG_1838.JPG

One piece that I wear with almost every outfit is a simple black velvet choker. You don't always need a lot of jewelry to make an outfit pop. A lot of times, less is more.

And what always ties an outfit together: the shoes. I have talked about these boots before.. they are all around great booties. These boots were the perfect shoe to make the outfit really pop.

This outfit is effortless, simple, classic and chic. Like I always say, you can never go wrong with all black.

Anyways, I hope you have a good week and are as excited as I am about the holiday season just around the corner! Happy Tuesday everyone!

Stripes for Thanksgiving

Only four days until Thanksgiving, the time we are reminded of what we are truely thankful for. A time when we eat more than we can consume and spend time with our family and friends while reminiscing on old times. There is so much to be thankful for. I am thankful to live in a country where we are free to express who we are and what we believe in. No matter who our president is, or what is happening in this world, we have a choice to unite as a people, respect one another, and love one another. No matter where you're from or what you believe in, we are all human beings. Each of us makes up the human race. And we can choose to respect one another and love one another, or we can choose to let our differences tear us apart. I choose love and respect. I want to love everyone around me despite our differences because we are all human and no individual is the same. So I am thankful that we each are given the opportunity and choice to love and respect one another despite our differences. Because at the end of the day, these are the things that matter the most... love and respect.

I am thankful for my family and friends, who continue to build me up and challenge me. I am thankful for my surroundings and people that continue to inspire me and push me to pursue my dreams. I am thankful to live in a place where I don't have to worry about when my next meal will or where I will sleep at night. There are so many things to be thankful for, all of which I take for granted at times.

I am thankful for a closet full of clothes, many of which I don't need but am thankful and blessed to have. For this week's look, I chose an outfit that is perfect for Thanksgiving. I chose some chestnut suede booties, a gold choker, and a striped dress rich with color.

DSC_0068.jpg

I bought this dress at a boutique on my college campus called Dress Up. The reason I love Dress Up so much is because of its core values. If you want to read more about the values of Dress Up, click here. Dress Up is the perfect store for high school and college girls. You can find the perfect game day outfit, rush week outfit, etc. There are so many options to choose from and all for such great prices. The reason I chose this dress to wear on Thanksgiving was because of the colors. The colors are so rich: deep blues and reds, contrasting against the chestnut brown and bright white. The off the shoulder sleeves are so straight cut and sophisticated. And if you add a simple choker with the off the shoulder style, it creates the perfect look. Another thing I love about this dress is the material. It is a thick material that hugs in just the right places, making you look slimmer and making you legs look longer.

I bought this choker form Pacsun over the summer. I love it because you can wear it during any season in the year. If you don't have a gold choker, I highly recommend getting one because they go with almost anything.

I wore these booties in my last blog post. They are from Forever 21 and they are a great heeled bootie for fall. The chestnut brown color and the suede material is the perfect combination to complete that cozy fall outfit.

Check out your local boutiques, because boutiques are always the perfect place to find cozy and cute outfits, especially for casual holiday outfits. Also, make sure to check out DressUp. I promise you will find something you love.

To end this post, I just want to remind you to be thankful for all that you have. I hope that this post helped you figure out the perfect outfit to wear for Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Wanderlust

Happy Saturday!! Wow, it has been a while. Three weeks is way to long to go without blogging. But it is a good build up for writing this post. Since college started, I have been filled with such wanderlust. I go to a college where I am surrounded by mountains and adventure. I am an art marketing major and I am always wanting to draw or paint things. I have been completely inspired by people and nature. I am in a place in my life where I am learning what I am truly passionate about. And those passions consist of fashion, art, and traveling. All I want to do is create art and travel. This world was meant to be seen, and so many people go their entire life without seeing it. There is so much beauty out there that most people never get to see. And there is always an excuse as to why. Too much money, school, work, the reasons are endless. But we each have the opportunity to take a leap of faith and a risk... A risk to seek out our true passions. A leap into the unknown. We can't see the future, and getting a steady job and having a safe and steady life might seem like the best choice. But I don't want my life to be filled with safe choices and comfort. I'm not saying that in a bad way. If you find any job that you're passionate about, then seek it out. That is awesome. For me, I want to do things that scare me. I want to see the beauty in this world. I want to take a leap of faith and pursue my passions despite not knowing the outcome. I want to feel like a kid, turning my dreams into a reality. And making my dreams into reality does not consist of making the comfortable and safe decisions. It consists of taking risks and seeking adventure in everything. It means not stressing over money, or what job I'm going to get, or any of that. I want to LIVE my life full of adventure, not go through life comfortably. I don't want to worry about money or anything that won't satisfy or last. "If you say that getting the money is the most important thing, you will spend your life doing things you don't like doing, in order to go on living and continue to do the things you don't like doing. Which is stupid." - Alan Watts

IMG_1290.JPG

I have no idea what I am going to do with my life. I am going to take my life a day at a time and make the most out of each day. No matter what people tell me, I am going to pursue my dreams and I am going to see the wonders and beauty of this world. I am going to make a career out of art, fashion, and travel. Whatever your dream in life is, pursue it and don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. Because you were made for a reason. You were created for a purpose. And nobody has the right to tell you that you can't do it, because you can. You can do whatever you set your mind to. It takes having a dream and believing that it can actually happen. It takes believing in yourself and working hard to reach your goals. So take a leap of faith. Whatever your passion is in life, make it your plan A. You can do it.

One thing that never fails to inspire me is my surroundings. So for this weeks look, I chose an outfit that was completely inspired by the mountains and fall colors. The leaves have turned colors, the acorns are falling, and the mountains are more beautiful than ever. So, I paired a yellow crop top with a denim lace up skirt and some suede chesnut booties.

I looked for a long sleeve turtle neck crop top for a while, and finally found this one at H&M. Not only was it exactly what I was looking for, but it was only five dollars!!! That is a steal if you ask me. H&M always has the best deals. What I love most about this long sleeve crop top is the straight line pattern in the material. It kind of gives off an old fashioned look. This shirt is the perfect basic crop top. You could pair it with a skirt, or some high-waisted jeans and a suede vest.

IMG_1373.JPG

This navy blue skirt is a perfect contrast against the yellow shirt and fall leaves in the background. It really makes the shirt pop. When I first saw this skirt from Free People, I was immediately fascinated by the double laces on the front of the skirt. The way the skirt laces up gives off such a unique look, compared to just a plain denim skirt. This skirt is also so flouncy and flirty and makes any outfit more fun.

Simply put, this skirt is aesthetically pleasing.

Last but not least, the boots. I bought them from Forever 21 this past summer, along with a pair of black ones. The chestnut color and suede material is perfect for the fall.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Pursue your dreams and wear outfits that make you feel good.

In the words of Alan Watts, "Let's suppose you were able, every night, to dream any dream you wanted to dream, and that you could for example have the power to dream in one night 75 years worth of time. Or any length of time you wanted to have. And you would, naturally, as you began on this adventure of dreams, fulfill all your wishes. You would have every kind of pleasure you could conceive. And after several nights of 75 years of total pleasure each, you would say 'Well, that was pretty great. But now let's have a sunrise. Let's have a dream which isn't under control, where something is going to happen to me that I don't know what it's going to be.' And you would dig that, and come out of it and say 'That was a close shave, now wasn't it?' Then you would get more and more adventurous and you would make further and further gambles as to what you would dream, and finally you would dream where you are now."

Trends

Our world is constantly changing. The people, the environment, the technology, the fashion, and so much more. We live in a world full of diversity and full of opinions. It is important to know what your stance is on things. While change happens in almost everything in life, I am going to focus in on fashion and how it changes over time. To specify, I am going to focus on trends. Should we keep up with trends or should trends keep up with us? I see trends as a burden. Why do we as people need to keep up with the latest trends when they are constantly changing. If everyone is trying to keep up with the latest trends, you see so many people dressing the same way. Why should we constantly have to keep up with trends and the way society says we should dress? There is no individuality in that. Fashion is about creating art and expressing who you are as an individual.  So to answer the question, trends should keep up with us. Wear what makes you feel good, and don't think that you have to keep up with trends. That is not what makes fashion icons. So who cares what people think. Through middle school and the beginning of high school, I was so worried about what people thought about me. I did everything I could to fit in. I acted the way my friends acted, and wore what everyone else was wearing. I quickly learned that none of that matters. All you can do is be confident in who you are and love who you are and what makes you, you. There is always going to be someone who you can't please. Fashion was a way for me to express myself. Fashion is about breaking through boundaries and expressing yourself in the truest way possible. Remember that and don't feel like you have to please everyone around you. Dress the way that makes you feel comfortable, and walk with confidence. Because each and every person is beautiful, and fashion is a way you can express who you are as a person.

IMG_0972.JPG

My favorite style is a classic black outfit. I've said it before and I will say it again: You can never go wrong with all black. Lately, my style has been all dark colors. I absolutely love dark colors. Burgundy, black, gray, navy, etc. Plus, they are comfy fall colors. For this outfit, I chose a black romper, a black leather hooded jacket, some black heeled booties, and a blue necklace to make the outfit pop.

IMG_0974.JPG

I bought this black romper from Victoria's Secret last summer. It is actually a cover up, but I wear it as an outfit because you can't tell the difference. It has adjustable straps and a simple v-neck. The romper is loose and extremely comfortable. It has a deep v in the back of the romper also. It is fun, flirty, loose and an all around good black romper.

I bought this jacket from Garage Clothing over Labor Day weekend. I have been wanting a faux leather jacket for a while now, but I have been waiting to find the perfect one. This jacket has a cotton layering on the inside that is comfy and cozy. There is a hood, which I love for extra cold winter days. The sleeves have zippers on the sides, which is nice if you want to layer and put a sweater underneath this jacket. This jacket really is the perfect jacket for layering. The lining is so pretty, and creates such a biker look. I could go on about this jacket for a while. I really do recommend this jacket to everyone because it is extremely warm and comfortable.

I've talked about these boots before, but I bought them from Forever 21. They definitely give off a little bit of a 70s vibe. I have them in black and chestnut brown because they are just so cute and versatile.

My friend let me borrow this necklace because I don't own much jewelry. I love this necklace because it is the perfect mix of blues to make the outfit really pop. I bought my ring last week from Madewell. It is my favorite accessory and I wear it with everything. Madewell has such a wide variety of jewelry, and each piece of jewelry is so dainty, delicate and pretty. Madewell's jewelry can soften just about any outfit.

I hope you all enjoyed this week's post! And remember to stay true to who you are and to your personal style. Happy Sunday!

Starry Night

So I mentioned a while back that I have been completely inspired by 70s and 90s looks, which comes at a good time, considering 70s, and especially 90s looks, are very in right now. My go-to store lately has been Pacsun. If you don't know what Pacsun is, I'll explain it to you in short. It kind of has a california vibe, which I absolutely love. The clothing is great quality for such a great price. So, if you need to find somewhere to shop that won't break your budget, check out Pacsun.

For this week's look, I chose a 90s inspired look. I wore a mesh shirt under a little black dress with some funky blue suede heeled booties. The shirt is loose and comfy, along with the dress. So if you want to look cute, but be comfortble, this is the perfect outfit.

I found this mesh top at Pacsun a month or two ago and fell in love. I loved it so much, that I bought a long sleeve bodysuit in the same pattern. This shirt is perfect for layering and can actually be worn in many different ways. You could wear it under a silk or satin cami, or maybe just wear it by itself with a basic black brallete underneath. What caught my eye about this shirt was definitely the pattern. The scattered moons, suns, and stars all over the shirt is so appealing in style and makes the outfit really pop. It just has that starry night effect. Not only that, but the mesh shirt is perfectly detailed on its own, so you don't need much jewelry.

This black dress is also from Pacsun. When I saw it and tried it on, I knew it would be perfect to wear over my mesh top. It has a unique hem line right beneath the chest area that goes in a downwards v shape. But I think my favorite thing about this dress is that it sways back and forth adding that feminine touch to the whole look.

Last but not least, we have the boots. I could talk about these boots for hours. I just bought them from Steve Madden and I wear them with almost everything. Don't let that heel fool you, they are extremely comfortable. These shoes are plush in texture and soft to the touch. The material hugs around your ankle and lower calf to give off yet another 90s vibe. This midnight blue color makes any outfit pop. In my opinion, it is the shoe that ties an outfit together. And if you ask me, these shoes definitely don't fail to do so. If you love these shoes but don't know what all you would be able to wear it with, there is actually so much. Velvet really makes any outfit look good. You could wear a basic white top with some boyfriend jeans or black skinny jeans rolled right above the boot. Or, maybe you could wear a moss green utility jacket with a white top and denim frayed shorts. The options are endless. This shoe is under $100, which is such a good find for this quality and style. All in all, these shoes were the perfect shoes to pull this whole look together.

Make sure to check out all of the links listed below for my outfit! See you next Saturday!

Fall Grunge

I hope everyone is having a good Tuesday! I don't know about you, but my week has been pretty busy. I drove 6 and a half hours home on Wednesday for my cousin's wedding. She got married Saturday and the wedding was absolutely beautiful. Weddings always fill me with so much joy. I spent all of last week on Pinterest, pinning about weddings. I love, love, LOVE weddings. Because I was home all week for the wedding, I decided to take the week off from blogging. That is why I am posting today instead of this past weekend.

This outfit below is a fall favorite. It is simple, easy, and very comfortable. You can never go wrong with a pair of boots, jeans, and a good sweater.

This thermal sweater is from Free People and I have a couple of them. They aren't too expensive for how great the quality is, so I recommend them to anyone. This burgundy/purplish color is my favorite color. I also have the sweater in grey. The material of this sweater is soft and very stretchy, and I believe it flatters anyone. Free People always has the perfect things for layering, and this is definitely one of those things. If you have short arms like me, you can easily role up the sleeves. Or, if it is super cold out, you can leave them long to cover up your hands for a little extra warmth. If you're going for a casual look, this is the perfect sweater.

I talked about these jeans in my first post, but they deserve to be talked about again. They are my favorite pair of jeans and I wear them with almost everything. They are more expensive than most, but they last for so long and are so comfy that it feels like you're wearing leggings. They are definitely worth the money.

Whenever I wear this sweater, I always wear a cute bralette underneath it. This one is from Victoria's Secret, but there are so many stores that carry cute bralettes for a good price. Free People and Urban Outfitters are my go-to stores for bralettes because they are comfy and priced so well.

These combat boots I am wearing are from Steve Madden and I have had them for years. Worn-in leather is one of my favorite looks, which is why I love these boots so much. When I wear combat boots, I either like to wrap the laces around the whole shoe and then bend the top of the boots down like a collar. Or, I like to make the laces super loose and not even tie them to give off a grungy kind of look, which is what I did with this outfit. Since I have had these boots for so long, the front of the boot has lost some of its leather, but that can be fixed easily. Just buy some leather paint to restore the boots and they look brand new again.

I hope you enjoyed this simple, comfy look! Check back next week for some more fall styles. Happy Tuesday!

Pink Corduroy

Happy Fall everyone!!! I am so excited that fall is finally here! It is definitely my favorite season of the year. It is the time of the year when you can pull out your flannels, boots, beanies, and everything cozy. It's the time of year when roasting marshmallows becomes a thing again, along with jumping through leaves and carving pumpkins.

I've been saving this outfit for a while now, just waiting for the first week of fall to wear it. It's the perfect outfit for that transition into fall weather. Not too hot outside, but not too cold either.

This Kendall and Kylie top is one of my favorite tops. I love the fabric across the neck that looks almost like a choker. The top is super loose and comfy, but fun and flirty at the same time. I also love this top because it can be worn during any time of the year. During summer, I wore this shirt with a pair of denim shorts and some hightop converse. You could also wear it in winter with a black leather jacket, a pair of jeans, and some boots.

Next, we have the skirt. I recently saw this skirt at Pacsun and fell in love. I did not own any corduroy, so that gave me an excuse to buy it, right? Also, I don't care what people say, I can assure you that corduroy is making a comeback. I love corduroy. I mean, who doesn't love warm, fuzzy, soft material?? It is such a peaceful pink, and I love where the button lies on the skirt. It is made so well and flatters almost anyone. Normally, high waisted things don't look too great on me because I have such a short torsoe, but this skirt did not show that at all. I highly recommend this skirt for anyone.

Last but not least, we have the boots. I bought these suede booties at Forever 21 towards the beginning of summer, and I've been waiting for Fall to wear them. I love them so much that I bought two pairs: one in black and one in chestnut. These boots are fun, hip, and definitely 70s inspired. I have been super into 70s inspired outfits lately.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post! Check out my blog next Saturday for another fun 70s inspired look.

Fall Flare

There are so many things I love about fall. The crisp sound of fallen leaves under your feet, the beautiful colors in the trees, and the sweet taste of pumpkin pie and Apple Cider. The weather is perfect out: not too cold, not too hot. You get to dress all cozy in relaxing colors. Your makeup doesn't melt off your face anymore like it does in the Summer. You get to celebrate all that you are thankful for during a wonderful celebration of Thanksgiving with all of your loved ones. And of course, (I am going to be basic for a second) YOU GET TO DRINK STARBUCKS PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES ALL DAY!!!!! Can I get a WHOOP WHOOP?! I absolutely LOVE pumpkin spice lattes. And last but not least, the September issue of Vogue comes. And let me just say, Kendall Jenner rocked that cover. September issues are always my favorite because they are the start to a new season of Fashion Month. Since we are on the subject of Vogue, I am going to tell you all how stoked I am about the October issue of Vogue. Lupita Nyong'o is on the October cover, and she is such an inspiration. So make sure to get the October issue, because any magazine that has Lupita in it is going to be good.

Okay, now that I have expressed to you how much I love fall, I will share with y'all an outfit that is perfect for the transition into Fall. There is always that awkward time in the year when the weather is still hot, but you will occasionally get those chilly days too. Summer clothes are starting to fade, and Fall clothes are starting to flow into your closet again. So in that awkward transition of seasons, you can never go wrong with a good pair of flare jeans, and a cream colored flare top.

You can pair this outfit with a cute bralette to spice things up, or you can just wear a camisole for a little bit more coverage. This outfit is perfect for the days that are a little more chilly. If the weather is hot out, you can always wear this top with a cute pair of shorts. Then, add some wrap up sandals and you're ready for the day. You might even switch it up and wear some heels if you want to add a little more oomph to the look.

I love this shirt because it is a sort of rough material, but it is also so light and breezy. It looks a little bit worn out, but that is the beauty in it. It gives off a casual and relaxing look. Also, the shirt flares out right below the chest, through a series of folds. The sleeves of this shirt give off a slight poof at the shoulders, which adds a unique and fun touch to the look. All in all, the shirt is loose, easy and fun, and can be worn in hot or chilly weather.

I got these jeans from Nordstrom and I love them. They weren't too expensive and they have rips right on the knees. I have been looking for a good pair of light denim jeans for a while, so these were the perfect buy. I wore some Steve Madden heels with this outfit. The heels give you a few inches without compromising the comfort of the shoe.

My go-to accessory is always this wrap around watch from American Eagle. Although, for an outfit like this, you can wear so many more fun accessories, either bulky or small.

I love this picture because it captures the two things I love most about the outfit: A cute and flirty bralette with a comfy and loose shirt.

That's all for today! I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you are excited for Fall!!! I know I am! Happy Saturday everyone!

Add Some Poof

One of my favorite things to do is to just dress cute and have a girls day. That could mean going out to lunch at a cute little restaurant, or maybe going shopping. I don't know about you, but food and shopping sounds like a pretty good day to me. Whenever I have fun days like that, this outfit below is my go-to.

image.jpg

My favorite part about this outfit is the white poofy top. I bought it a year ago from Anthropology and still wear it all the time. It is a super light material, so it's perfect for hot weather. It also has a pretty fray lining around the neck. On top of that, you can dress the outfit down with a cute pair of flats instead of heels.

image.jpg

For a top that has the poof effect, wear it with a pair of skinny jeans or classic shorts. This combo flatters your body by making your legs look slimmer.

image.jpg

The heels I am wearing are Tibi, designed by Amy Smilovic. They are my favorite pair of brown heels because they go with just about anything.  The bucket cross body purse I am wearing with this outfit is Madewell. And like always, it is made so well. I've had it for years and I wear it with just about everything.

LA, NYC, LONDON, PARIS

Today marks my first day as a college student. I am beyond excited to start this next chapter in my life. Before I left for college, my friend Alexandra Sapp, and I decided to have one last photoshoot.

image.jpg

This first outfit is definitely one of my favorites. It might still be summer, but you can never go wrong with a good black outfit. The jeans I am wearing are Madewell jeans. Yes, the brand is called Madewell. And yes, they are made SO well. My cousin, Liza Anne, bought them for me as a Christmas present a few years ago. For a long time, I did not know that you are not supposed to wash quality made jeans too much. And even though I washed them a ton, they have lasted for a long time and are still in great condition. They are mid-waisted, comfy, cute, and can be worn with just about anything. Not only that, but Madewell cares so much about their customers. I caught my jeans on a nail, causing them to rip. I immediately took my jeans to the Madewell store, and they sewed them up with no charge.

The black shirt I am wearing in this outfit is actually a bodysuit. And for a bodysuit, it is actually pretty comfortable. I paired this low cut bodysuit with a black, velvet chocker from Pacsun.

image.jpg

After about an hour in the scorching heat, I decided to change outfits. This next outfit is another one of my favorites. I chose a black top from Pacsun, Calvin Klein shorts, and the same shoes and accessories. The shirt is super fun and flirty, and can be styled in so many ways. Plus, it has all of the countries I want to travel to, on the front of the shirt. I mean... couture in Paris, high fashion in New York, rock fashion in London, and hip fashion in Los Angeles? A girl can only dream.

image.jpg

These Calvin Klein shorts used to be plain jeans. My cousin, Liza Anne, actually cut them and frayed them herself. They are my go-to summer shorts, and basically the only shorts I ever wear. Love, love, love them.

image.jpg

Fun fact: I am a shoe hoarder. If I have an outfit I absolutely love, I will not wear it if I don't have the perfect shoe to tie it together. So for me, the shoe that ties this outfit together is a black pair of leather converse. This limited edition collection of converse was a collaboration with John Varvatos to celebrate the 40th anniversary of punk rock. They are by far the most stylish and comfortable converse I own. Plus, I got these shoes on sale, which makes it an even better purchase.

These two outfits are perfect for casual outings with your friends. You could dress up the bodysuit with a nice skirt or pair of pants and heels, or dress it down, like I did. All in all, these items are great buys.

image.jpg

That's all for today, but thank you so much for reading! My next post will be next Saturday, so don't miss it! Maybe I'll do a college edition post, I don't know. But come back next week to find out! Happy Saturday everyone!

Sincerely,
